On Tuesday night we met to honour our grief from the loss we all feel caused by Climate Change. We shared our feelings in small groups and found some solace in the knowledge that we are not alone. Emotions ranged from sadness to anger and futility. Some cannot really accept the inevitability of the losses.
Wes Ryan, a Peterborough Spoken Word Artist listened in on our conversations and reflected them back to us in his own inimitable way. Wes beautifully expressed the quiet angst and hope he heard in many discussions but I was too slow remembering my job, so I only started recording mid-way through. Here’s some of what he had to say. And here are some photos from the evening.
We ended the evening singing It’s A Wonderful World. Music helps.
